4/8/08 KEWASKUM- The once thriving Regal Ware factory in Kewaskum is well on it’s way to humming once again. DualLiner, a company producing bed liners for pickup trucks has taken up residency in the Second Street industrial building.
DualLiner occupies 11,000 square feet there that they use as their main office and warehouse. The group chose Kewaskum as their headquarters because it’s somewhat centrally located between the company’s owners.
Manufacturing is outsourced to a company in Southeastern Wisconsin. As demand increases, they say they intend to build a manufacturing facility in the area.
“One of the things we base our criteria on is our country. We believe we should keep the opportunities here. We want to bring manufacturing here. Our volumes are reaching a point where it makes sense to do things ourselves,” The Company’s General Manager Bryndan O’Hara exclaimed.
Once a plant is built, O’Hara expected the company would add 15-20 new jobs, most being in their manufacturing department.
DualLiner was born after one of the owners met the inventor of the unique truck accessory at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show in Las Vegas a number of years ago.
O’Hara, explains the company came together about six years ago. He’s been a part of the company’s leadership for about three and a half years. “I stumbled across the product. After driving trucks for 30 years, I finally found a bed liner that worked.” O’Hara exclaimed.
O’Hara pointed out that there are only two reasons why truck owners invest in a bed liner. “They want it to protect the truck and protect cargo, I’ve tried the others and none of them work,” he says.
As any truck owner would attest to, bed liners are slippery. The key to DualLiner’s product is the zero-skid mat combined with the hard polyethylene sides.
O’Hara touts that the product’s ease of installation is the second part of it’s recent rise to popularity. There are four steps, taking 15-20 minutes to install. 1) Add the load guard to the front of the truck bed. 2) Install the sides to your truck bed. 3) Unroll and install the zero-skid mat. 4) Install the tailgate piece.
The bed liner also comes with a lifetime warranty that can be transferred to any new owners of the truck the bed is installed in.
O’Hara also points out that only one of the company’s five owners was a pick-up owner. The non-truck owners had foresight, and bought in to the company because of the product’s simplicity.
Because of their belief in the American economy, DualLiner will only work in full-size American trucks. “We need to keep it close to home, we believe in America. Our goal is not about making lots of money; it’s about being part of America and driving our economy forward,” O’Hara professed.
Locally, the DualLiner product is available at Moose’s 4 x 4 in Hartford and Just the Details in Slinger. However it can also be ordered from the Company’s website www.dualliner.com. The website also contains a list of the available truck models where DualLiner can be used.
The product ships in a box with five pieces which O’Hara says is “very appealing to people.” “Retailers like it because it’s easy to handle and store,” O’Hara explained.
